Turnitin now allows students to submit from Google Drive and Dropbox.

I have written up some advice on this here:
http://www.shef.ac.uk/polopoly_fs/1.321913!/file/TurnitinCloudSubmit.pdf

Important to note that if students want to submit from Dropbox, there are some risks involved... i.e.  Dropbox was not intended for use on shared pcs (and not managed desktop)... therefore the dropbox folder is deleted when you log out and you have to re-link it every time you log back on.

Be interesting to see  whether students actually use google drive/docs much for their assignments...

Turnitin iPad app v.1.2  and  iOS7  update:

Turnitin have released v1.2 of the iPad app recently, this was in order for it to be compatible with iOS7.

However, there is a known issue with this latest version.  Turnitin state that you must delete the previous (1.1.3) version of the app before installing the new one. If you simply upgrade/update the new app over the old one, the new one will not work at all. Their engineers are working on fixing this... ill get back when I have more info!

Turnitin have their "student success" week in the U.S. This is a free virtual conference.. Times are going to be less palatable for UK audience, and we might have to ignore the common core rubric bits, but potentially still some useful stuff going on here....

Further to this, it does seem to be operational now...however, will wait and see..would treat it as "at risk" still.

Turnitin have now released the  iPad app v.1.2.1

This should be fully compatible with iOS7. Although I would still be tempted to delete the previous version and then install new!

At this present time the Turnitin iPad app is for staff use only. There is no facility for students to upload their own work through this device. They will have to use the desktop (or laptop) version for this. Normally this is through a  MOLE module.  The idea behind the app at present, is to allow Staff to mark and return feedback on assignments.

“Some of the teachers have huge class loads, and they see from 120 up to 170 kids in any given quarter over the course of all of their classes,” Sean Casey said. “The application turnitin.com has some game-changing things. You can actually grade and revise and have the draft come back to you, which creates a loop between the teacher and the student, which is a powerful thing compared to the way things are usually done.”
