While roaming around the Internet today looking for something particular, I stumbled upon this glorious
bit of Photography of the Yakushima Forest
that is located in Japan. It's hard to attribute this totally ubiquitous shot, it's all over the net on free sites but I did manage to track down where it showed up first, on Jeremy Hendley's site antipixel.com
in 2006. I am not sure he is the original Photographer, though. Not certain at all. So I'll leave it be. It was the inspiration for the ancient primeval forest in Princess Mononoke, by the way. :) The forest, not the photo.
I wish I could explain what I was looking for, but in the midst of inspiration for painting, I don't like to talk about it. I'll lose the mojo. Anyway I couldn't not share this stunning bit of ancient and beautiful forest.
