Could you tell me what brought you into photography in the first place? You are brought up in the old East Germany. Do you see that resonated in your recent photography? How, by the way, did you experience The Fall of the Wall in 1989, and how did the new…

THE VISUAL METAPHYSICS OF THOMAS SANDBERG
New Interview on New Street Agenda

"I met Thomas Sandberg for the first time two years ago.

I had approached Ostkreuzschule in Berlin. I had a question about a photograph made by Arno Fisher (1927-2011). I knew he had worked with Ostkreuzschule so I thought they must know. I wanted to know where the picture was taken. I wanted to go there.

I had tried to contact Arno Fisher before that but sadly I got the answer from a family member that Arno Fisher had passed away.

Someone at Ostkreuzschule must know about this photo, I though."

Some of you may remember the post on fast and frugal from last year. Fast and frugal suggests that under certain conditions you may be better off evaluating an artwork in a spit second not having all the relevant data or logics at hand. Gut feeling may indeed work for you. Fast and frugal is relevant …
