If depression is genetic, can some one please identify the gene which is responsible for depression ? If depression is genetic, then so is "terrorism", yes it runs in families, from generations, or people belonging to certain group of genes. I am sure there is a chemical imbalance that causes people to self explode ? If depression is due to chemical imbalance, can some one show me a baseline of what chemical balance means ? What is there a chemical test or some kind of test which can prove there is a chemical imbalance ? This is woowoo....fooling gullible people, who have given up critical thinking ability, why are people not skeptical about this stuff...and why cant people see how large pharmaceutical corporations are making a killing by selling psychotropic drugs...

+Shriram Karpur There is in fact already proof of chemical imbalance. When certain neurotransmitters (dopamine and serotonin) are not released in high enough amounts (yes, there is already a proven baseline of normal amounts of release) then there is not enough receptor binding and the neurons are unable to fire as much. This creates depression since these neurotransmitters are what allow you to feel good. Antidepressant medications increase the amount of serotonin and dopamine in your brain so that it can restore normal levels of firing. They do this by blocking the removal and recycling of these transmitters so they are able to bind more frequently and induce more firing, even though you still have low levels of the neurotransmitter.

Additionally, psychiatrists prescribe the drugs, however, research is done separately by scientists (neuropharmacologists like me) and unlike you we have qualitative data that supports our claims. Please take the time to actually do the research if you are going to comment so often. Once again pubmed.com this is available to the public so that people like you can learn about this for yourself.

I am just surprized at Alex's response after seeing Tucker's reaction to WTC7. I was thinking Alex will explode !! Its so clearly visible to me, that both of them were so authetic in their response ! ;-)

Hahaha, LOL. Many of my American, Japanese and European friends have asked me about Indian head shaking, this is a big stereo type for Indians. Enjoy it. Cheers !

I think the larger shark killed the smaller shark as a mercy killing. So that it can die quickly instead of suffocating to death at the hands of humans.

Thank you so much, I was linking these thoughts of vegan and atheism for a long time myself in the mind. U brought it out very clearly. I really think atheist are smart, then why are they meat eaters ? I can never understand.  No rational minded person can be a meat eater. I wish bible didnt say that animals are for human consumption. Then imagine 1 billion people could be vegan easily.
