Well... My GSOC project for this year, entitled Comprehensive Comprehensions, is going to be wrapping up here soon.

These are the extended for comprehensions that you described a few episodes ago.

I've got a working build with pretty-much-done code (and a build) up at https://scala-comprehensions.org and I'm in the process of posting documentation. I will likely have another post up on the site by the time you start the show and a post on scala-sips in the next couple days.

Because 2.11 is so far along, these changes won't be in a release for a very long time (if ever, since I am not the one who decides that), so community feedback will have a strong pull on the future of this feature.

really enjoying the podcast ;-)

but from the about eclipse dialog viewed the help menu in my copy

Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers

Version: Juno Service Release 2
Build id: 20130225-0426

(c) Copyright Eclipse contributors and others 2000, 2013. All rights reserved.
Visit http://eclipse.org/

nb the bundle versions in eclipe/osgi by design and necessity shouldn't match the application version. In actual fact to (mis)quote many a good book any similarity between the bundle version number and the program version is purely coincidental Bundles should just update there numbers as capabilities change so if you have a 1.0.0 bundle that always maintains its api and compatatbility it should always be 1.0.0 Eclipse even has a whole web page on it http://wiki.eclipse.org/Version_Numbering

regards
gary

Hé guys, nice chat. How did you like you friet with freaksaus this year @ Devoxx? :-P

Liked the discussion about Java8. I had a talk with Brian Goetz about it on Devoxx because I don't like it either. He kind of convinced me this is the best way for Java, but, like a guy remarked after the Lambda university session, Java8 almost looks like a new language. And if that is the case, what would you then rather like to learn? The verbose Java8 functional style (althought "they're not competing with functional languages") or the nice and clean Scala style? Personally I think Scala will pick up quite some follows next year. In NL at the Scala meetups, we see newcomers every session.
Btw, have you seen the Optional[T] class in Java8? And the OptionalInt, OptionalLong and OptionalDouble classes, all of which do not extend Optional[T[ !?!

Yeah, the audio is mastered, just waiting for our "Queue" in libsyn to empty before it will let us upload the next bits.  According to libsyn, that's Feb 18th...  I'll talk to the guys about paying more/month for libsyn or see if we can get a sponsorship.
