wrapping up today... got the new members assembled to mockup the "lower layer" this makes the array easier to work on and will allow for some chip collecting ideas to be explored...

this Open Source system INCLUDES a 3D printer, but aims to cover more processes than just 3D printing, bringing both additive and subtractive processes together with automation. more info here http://patreon.com/CubeSpawn

so all that cutting must've had a point? Right? beginning the assembly of a lower layer of frames to elevate the "finished cubes off of the floor and I want to try capturing chips in the lower layer as well from the cutting machines:

I thought I should post a render of the Array drawing to indicate the state of completion: the printer is built and tested, the mill is out for bids and the lathe is 50% completed, all that remains is the 4 arm delta robot to complete the blind cell side of the hardware. and, of course, the pallet mover and pallet loader - there are a whole family of accessories as well such as a tool-changer for both the mill and lathe, a robotic tool offset setter for both, a fixturing robot for the mill and the many other operations that will need to be automated to make this system semi autonomous.

I have not been posting much on G+ lately - but a lot is going on - The CubeSpawn project is intended to build things from digital templates and eventually be semi autonomous, but the first real world application is intended for self sufficiency, THAT projects funding has gotten ahead of the machines so we are re-erecting a greenhouse (purchased as scrap, but in perfect condition) and combining it with rainwater, PV electric Aquaponics, and a mushroom farm...
