Last time I was here was 20 years ago. Didn't seem to be as bright on the inside. Food was ok, beef and pork was somewhat dry. The barbque chicken was great. Didn't stay for the music. It's a great place to come and let the kids run unchecked thru the building as the other parents did. also bring CASH, no plastic taken, nearest atm is 7 miles away.

They didn't even use Boston Butt. Instead, it was some dry pork roast. The beef was dry as a bone and burnt. The chicken was dry. The only good things, on their very paltry menu, were the beans and bbq sauce. If I am to spend almost $12 a plate, I want something better than burnt, dry, and flavorless food. I want selection. I want juicy, smoked, and marbled pork. I want banana pudding. I want cobbler, I want air conditioning. Most of all, I want to feel like I got my money’s worth. I felt like I was ripped off. Save your money and order a pizza instead.

I love this place so much I got married here. It has "country" in the name so be fair it will be in a barn. A sweet family runs it. The bands play old time music, food is yummy, and a overall cool atmosphere. Defiantly not a run of the mill chain restaurant.

If you go to Sims BBQ plan on eating in a barn out in the middle of nowhere, No parking lot and no parking lot lights. Food isn't to bad but not great, pay a little too much, music is pretty good if you like old time bluegrass. Atmosphere is fun, very country setting. Plan on kicking up your heels and doing a little clogging. Very kid friendly. This place is not for everyone but for some of us city folk that was raised in the country, I mean out door "toilette" country! Its a trip down memory lane. Myself? I love going there every great once in a while just to remember the past and how much I really don't miss it. In fact! Im taking my grandchildren there tonight. You should come too! :)

Sims Country BBQ, November 8, 2013 Where to start? Short Story; mediocre food at best and poor facilities It’s a barn in the middle of nowhere, a grass field parking lot with poor lighting if you leave after dark you better have a flashlight. You pay $10.75 per person at the door to stand in a single buffet line. They might advertise all you can eat but you have to stand in line for 15min if you want to go back for seconds. There is a very limited menu with nothing for kids. Cole slaw was chopped cabbage and not much else. Corn fritters were bland and cold. Rolls were cold potato chips were ok. Pickles how do you ruin pickles but they did it. BBQ chicken was really baked chicken and it was dried out, BBQ pork was dry and had little flavor, both were barely warm. I didn’t try the BBQ beef. The drink station is separate from the buffet line and costs extra $ .75 for tea. You have a choice of uncomfortable seating, folding metal chairs or a hard wood bench, at long wood table with no table clothes unless you bring your own. Choose your table wisely as there is very poor lighting in the barn. You seat yourself so you have to find a spot to set, better get there early or you might wind up standing up. Spider webs adorn the walls and ceilings so don’t be surprised if one drops down to greet you. I found no redeeming qualities about this place and after leaving I stopped at Subway to get a sandwich.
