True that.

It wasn't until after he died that I learned who Aaron Swartz ( #aaronswartz ) was, and after learning a bit about him, wished I had known him. It turned out so many people I know, had known him, and all I had to do was mention his name in a crowd of geeks to get someone's personal story about his or her encounter with him.  And over the past year or so, I keep seeing his words and deeds crop up everywhere; the most recent time I was in http://archive.org while I was there for lunch one Friday afternoon. Archive.org makes little terracotta statues of the people that have worked there; it's a converted church, hosting, among many other things, the history of the Internet.  Mirrors of their databases are kept at places like the library of Alexandria and they work, very hard at converting all the information in the world, to something that can be preserved, and shared.

In the pews sit those statues, and at the lectern, is Aaron Swartz. I took a picture of that, and for that last month or so, I've been using that as my image here on g+... because I feel if we all could be a bit more like him, the world would be a better place. And because this movie was coming out:

http://www.techtimes.com/articles/9296/20140627/the-internet-s-own-boy-revisits-tragic-life-of-aaron-swartz.htm

In my own case, that day, I saw that archive.org's 30+ transcriptions sites - transferring 100s of gigabytes a day - had really bad #bufferbloat on their edgerouter lites - hurting their archivists' productivity - and decided to do something to fix that for them, and for him.

The Internet is a bidirectional medium - anyone with a voice, can speak, and anyone with a brain, can listen, and there should be no barriers against doing either, or both.
'The Internet’s Own Boy' is an intensely moving film that tells the story of Aaron Swartz, a brilliant, young Internet activist who took his own life after the government sentenced him to 35 years behind bars.

I've just released #Orgmode 8.2.6, a bugfix release. This is an important one as it will be merged into #Emacs 24.4.

http://jecode.org décolle, les acteurs commencent à se fédérer autour de cette idée qu'il faut aider les enfants à s'approprier l'univers numérique pour qu'ils n'en soient pas de simples consommateurs.

Wrote a few of my thoughts on the Atreus - a custom travel-friendly 40% keyboard.

(CC +Gina Häußge - It isn't the ErgoDox but much of the stuff applies to all keyboards with staggered layouts)
I recently finished my Atreus - a custom 40% keyboard designed by Phil Hagelberg (http://technomancy.us). Just like the famous ErgoDox, it features staggered rows and a more effective and comfortable use of the thumbs. The sm...

Nice. I'm waiting for keyboard.io, because I'm hardware-incompetent. But this does look like a nice keyboard.

Notre ...
