Watch as eight finalists compete for the title of GDST Bake Off Champion 2016! Their challenge was to bake cupcakes in honour of their heroine, for the consideration of judges, Howard Middleton, a former Great British Bake Off contestant, and Tiina Carr, who runs a boutique hotel and restaurant, Brocco on the Park in Sheffield. The final was held at Sheffield High School.

We challenged girls from all year groups across the GDST network to get creative on a postcard. They responded with a dazzling display of creativity, wit and skill. Their work, originally displayed in October at Gallery Different in London's West End, is now available to view online. Take a look at the gallery!

Today we're looking forward to welcoming 140 new Year 13 student leaders (head girls, deputies and senior prefects) from all 25 GDST sixth forms to the GDST Young Leaders' Conference at the Royal High School in Bath.

The weekend centres around an 'Apprentice-style' challenge which tests the creativity, resilience and leadership skills of the students.

Follow us on Twitter for updates throughout the weekend. On Sunday morning, you can join us live from 8am to watch the teams deliver their final presentations.

We are delighted to announce a partnership with FutureLearn, one of the world’s biggest MOOC (massive open online course) providers, to produce free, online CPD courses for teachers.

Our first course, ‘Girls’ Education: teaching strategies that develop resilience, confidence and collaboration’ is now open for enrolment and will start on 21 November 2016.
