So this was one of the first few spots which I ventured into on Frenchman St neighborhood. This area is supposed to be very famous with locals and is not touristy and crazy as bourbon street. On Thursday the live band was a reggae band, I was really excited to see one place with live reggae band as most of the other places in Nola are jazz based. This spot is not huge but has decent space to dance and the band stage is very spacious. The band was very nice and made sure to involve audience, they played some really cool reggae tracks. The other best part of this place apart from good music, vibe is the Mexican food which they serve here. There is small food counter and some tables in the back. I had the pineapple pork quesadillas and they were so tasty. I would definitely recommend Cafe Negril when bar hopping on Frenchman.

Soul Project NOLA, the preferred Frenchmen Street Funk House Band plays here every Thursday and two Saturdays per month !! Great times dancing and sharing this wonderful New Orleans experience. You have no idea what kind of amazing energy builds up through the music in here until you have experienced it. The place has just been improved for better acoustics and new tile has been installed. Makes the whole venue look "cleaner" but this place just can't loose its Funk :P They now have fish and shrimp tacos ;) Soul Music

Kind of old and dingy but hey its New Orleans. I heard a very good blues band here and really enjoyed them. The next band was a reggae band and they were very good too. There is no cover and I wasn't hastled to buy drinks. So if you pass by and the music sounds good by all means go in and enjoy it. I didn't eat there but I saw a lot of locals leaving with takeout plates so I may have missed out but I'm not sure.

Came on a Tuesday night and what a great band was playing, John Lisi and Delta Funk. They jammed so hard and rocked the house! There's a taco booth toward the back of the room, two words: salmon tacos. Delicious!

The service was bad to say the least. The manager, some tall, skinny, grey haired man, and his two early forties year old friends, each metro-ed out, are sure to be present. Complete sleazy balls hitting on high school girls, ect. The music is usually good, but the drinks are over priced and better music is found down the street at blue nile
