Classic seafood house known for clam chowder, lobster rolls & patio dining overlooking the Pacific.- Google
"Clam chowder was only okay and the seafood paella seemed a little too moist."
"The gumbo left something to be desired but the seafood ceviche was really good."

Super popular spot, so the lines are to be expected. This place needs like 5x more bathrooms. We went early on Sunday to beat the crowds and the restrooms were still packed. Weird. The chowder was good. Portions are huge. The bread came out cold. Pretty meh for a place with hour+ waits on Saturdays.

Nicely located with access through Hw1 parking lot or walking path below the restaurant. The place gets crowded over the weekend so it's best to go during weekdays. Food is reasonably priced but much of the seafood is farm raised and not likely local to HMB. Food and ambience is great for visitors and locals alike.

This restaurant met and exceeded our expectations. We had the New England clam chowder, the prosciutto and peach frisse salad, and shrimp scampi linguine. Everything we had was amazing! Beautiful view and outside dining if you desire.

The crab and shrimp salad I got was delicious, maybe a smidgen heavy on the mayo but otherwise great. The folks were super friendly and had lots of patience for my picky friend ;) We also really enjoyed the New England clam chowder and Manhattan clam stew, we were surprised with the spice in the Manhattan stew! Delicious!

Yes it's touristy, and yes they charge touristy prices....but the food is still pretty good! Can't go wrong with the lobster roll or clam chowder. Cozy place with the nautical theme going. Great view of the Pacific. Friendly staff. Parking lot is small, so just grab a spot on Highway 1 and walk it. Super busy....either opt for an early or late lunch to avoid the crush of people.

Good, good crab. Incredible, multi-tier seating at outdoor deck overlooking the Pacific. And some of the best service I have ever experienced in the bay area. Always full and a little pricey, but worth it. Not worth it... the cheesecake. Skip the extra calories.

If you love seafood with a scenic view, then this place is right for you! Tons of options for food and refreshments. Great service, Minimal wait time, and electrifying atmosphere with live music. Yes the clam chowder is a must have!!!

Sams is really good, the chowder is super tasty, the lobster roll is pretty good, everything tastes fresh and just right. Main problem at this Sam's is the huge wait. It's way too popular, so even getting into the parking lot is a pain. Reserving ahead can help or just coming at an off time, but the wait is why we don't come here very much anymore. View is amazing from the back though, so it's nice to go once in a while. Unfortunately there aren't a ton of other options in the HMB area.
