Always try and visit whenever I'm in NYC because of its Welsh ties, although the service is always bad. The final straw was my most recent visit on boxing day. Had to ask the busboy for a drink after waiting 30 minutes for service. Gave a generous tip of 18% before being given a condescending lecture by the waitress about how you must always tip in the US, until she realised she had counted the money we left incorrectly.

Great Pub food, burgers, etc. Sit outside on a beautiful day -- great for people watching. Close to the Hudson River Park and also Bleecker St. Shops. Great Draft Beer (so I've heard, although I don't drink!). I love sitting outside here and just relaxing. It's great.

Spring day, Sunshine, Great cold beer selection and People watching with friends...good times is what it is! Not for those looking for a mixologist or deconstructed libations...is what it is and what it is is great and has a history to match!

Not good, I'm afraid. Me - 'bottle of Coney Island IPA please and a small cider...' Barman interrupts rudely 'We only do pints' (I order a pint instead and wonder how I am supposed to know that this is the only pub in the world that does pints and nothing else). Later: Staff Member - 'We've got a party of eleven coming, we need this table' (gestures towards a table that can easily fit 15'). 'There is plenty of room for them to sit down here, we don't mind'. Barman gestures and walks away in a sulk (I wonder if I have ever been asked to move from an unreserved table when there are plenty of seats available). It also turns out that a third member of staff had been rude to my wife earlier. I also witnessed the barman give three dollar bills in change to someone by dumping it in a patch of spilled drink on the bar. The punter had to pick up the soaked notes and shake them dry. A very obnoxious place. Avoid, unless you like an argument. This is no way to run a 'pub'. The 'pint' was short a good inch as well. Go to the Old Pony Bar instead.

I'd say the service ruined it, but there wasn't much else great to really be ruined. The outdoor seating on the sidewalk is nice with great weird people watching in this area. The service is abysmal though. We waited an hour before having to go up to the bar to order our second round of drinks. We had to get ourselves water and menus from the bar as well. Others were also overheard wondering where the waiters were. The beer list is also pathetic and overpriced. $7 for a small can of beer is ridiculous. The selection is also tiny. Add to it all, that their patio doesn't allow dogs and I think I'll skip it next time.

I came here one night after a show and had a drink. The bartenders were nice and the vibe is low-key. Cash only. The night after, we came for a late-night bite. The food was just ok (hence the three stars). But if you're just coming for beer in a vintage place, you're golden.

I was here with friends and the service was bad. Waitress overcharged us 20 dollars which went to her tip. You're better off going to the next bar.

I stumbled into this place for the second time after waiting for a friend who was late. It was packed but I was able to find standing space at the bar. At first I was a bit uncomfortable and slightly offended I couldn't catch either bartenders attention to get a drink. When I did though I was able to get three in a row with no problem. The bartender asked me if I was on a mission...What can I say I'm a quick drinker. My last round and my friends were free...so yeah now I'm in love...What can I say I'm easy to please :-)
