Three facts about Louis C.K. I learned today:

1. He had a show on HBO in 2006 called "Lucky Louie," which only lasted one season. It was set up like a standard sitcom and taped in front of a live audience, but was extremely obscene. It's very funny.

2. He grew up in Mexico City, spoke Spanish as his first language, and retains his Mexican citizenship.

3. He wrote and directed Pootie Tang. Yes, really.

#2 I had no idear.

I recommend listening to the interview he had with Marc Maron on the WTF podcast. Very revealing.

While the director credit on Pootie Tang is a surprise, I would've never guessed he was a Mexican citizen unless Boston changed it's name to Mexico and declared itself a country. Crazy.

He desecrated Davies Symphony Hall in SF last September. Absolute and total uncontrollable body laughter.

His Fresh Air interview from last year is great too!

In his defense, Pootie Tang was totally ruined by the producers, so he can't really be blamed for how it turned out.

Oh, and Marc Maron's podcast is great in general. There are two parts to his Louis CK interview, and he's had lots of other great guests too (Joe Rogan, Conan O'Brien, Kevin Smith, …well, pretty much everyone, really).

Pootie Tang is a fantastic film!

I actually never saw Pootie Tang…I've just heard Louis CK complain about what happened to it in a couple of interviews.

Wow, 2006. I loved Lucky Louie … I only saw it in hotel rooms when traveling to CA for work. Fucking brilliant.

What! I love Pootie Tang! And Louis C.K. is hilarious.

I knew about 1 and 3. 2 is a surprise.
