I will talk at the Frontend Union conference in Vilnius about "Elements":

This session is about the curiosity that drives us forward. It focuses on the new possibilities of JavaScript and how creative coders are using them.

* Which are the core elements of the language?
* What happens, if we reduce them to the minimum?
* And how can we puzzle them together, in the most unexpected way?

I'll explain, how to use the unknown aspects of JavaScript to make something new: Little games, small tools, and beautiful demos – all in just a bunch of bytes and out of nothing!

AUREBESH.js – Translate JavaScript to other writing systems!

Type in a list of up to nine symbols in the input. Your symbols will then be used to generate a short piece of valid JavaScript that you can execute without any extra code.

Here is an example in Aurebesh, the most used alphabet in the Star Wars galaxy:

(Copy and paste it to your JS console to see the result.)

Maps community,

With the Views website now offline, today marks the beginning of an exciting new adventure for those who enjoy sharing great, geotagged imagery.

Effective today, you’re now gaining:
• More exposure for your new Maps profile (see “Contributions” from the side menu)
• More exposure for all photo spheres you associate with Maps listings
• Better integration with the rest of Google Maps

In the very near term, we’ll also be:
• Displaying the total number of published images in your account
• Showing your total view count
• Adding more ways to publish and geotag images

And of course, we are working to deliver you additional useful tools in the near and longer term. Thank you for your patience during this transition. We’re very excited for the many improvements in store!

— The Google Maps team
