Fifty Missouri National Guard Soldiers braved the weather over the long weekend to train with the Fort Leonard Wood Directorate of Emergency Services Physical Security section in preparation for an upcoming deployment. Led by Staff Sgt. Andrew Averett, Physical Security noncommissioned officer in charge, the training was designed to prepare the National Guard Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 138th Infantry Regiment in access and entry control point procedures.

Hundreds of Missouri National Guard Soldiers and Airmen were on hand to support the inauguration of Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens at the State Capitol on Jan. 9.

Missouri Governor Eric Greitens visited Missouri Guardsmen from the 1st Battalion, 138th Infantry Regiment at Fort Leonard Wood this morning. Gov. Greitens, who served as a US Navy SEAL, joined the deploying Soldiers for physical training. The 1-138th is holding departure ceremonies Friday, Jan., 20 and Saturday, Jan. 21, prior to leaving for their final segment of training before departing for a year-long deployment overseas.
