We are continuing to make progress on our process.  Although we do not like paper filters, there is a demand for them.  Most people however after trying a polyspun filter are sold on the improvement.   With that being aid I want to show you a recent picture of  some of our work.   I am amazed at the skill of our technicians and their developments.

Our Tri-Ox system is up and operating.  We just had a real tough test for the new technology.  Moldy filters, yeas I sad moldy, and nasty. The results were awesome.  no mold spores, no stains, and they were sanitized.

After the guys in the cleaning area got soaked with junk this week we were working on a new little device to go up into the inside of a filter used to make bedding.  The cotton based product triples in size when it gets wet.  Believe it or not we calculated that we removed 20,000 pounds of dirt out of the 100 filters.

Not a lot of innovation this week.. Been super busy cleaning filters.  Did get some more plumbing on the TRI-OX system.  At this rate it will take a while.

Andy is working a machine to measure material strength.   Currently the industry uses a machine that does destructive testing.  In other words the filter is destroyed in the test.  This is called a burst test.  Andy's concept will test the minimum strength of a filter media. In other words it is non destructive.
We will use this on incoming filters to test them prior to processing.  The improvement comes with the fact that we will know the media strength before the filters are processed.

An "Ah Ha" Moment
When developing a new idea last week we both looked at each other at the same moment and virtually said at the same time, "What if we transferred the technology we have been working on to drying all of our filters?"

Hours later we had a small prototype / proof of concept unit built.  As you know we clean industrial filters.  We specialize in dust collection filters. "Dirty Jobs stuff".  After we clean the filter it has always been a challenge to dry the filters in a way that does not damage them, and gives us the desired results. This is the bottleneck in our operation,  We could rush filters but, I have never liked the way the filters were dried in a rush situation.

This may have all just changed.
We purchased a chamber from a military installment.  They were going to send this to a landfill.  First i feel good about keeping this out of a landfill.  By using the dry pasteurization technology we are now able to dry a cleaned cartridge filter in 75% less time and with an energy reduction of 80%.

I am thrilled with all the innovation.  That is what is missing in this country.  At least one of our people come in every Monday with the statement. " I was  thinking about ___ this week end.  Would that work here."

I am so proud. An idle mind is a waste.
Our country we built on new ideas.  If we would not have creative , innovative we would still be drinking overpriced tea.

Fantastic Idea
We have a secret weapon.  It is a guy that has the ability to take new technology and adapt it to our industry.   What does that mean to FilterPro?  We always are improving.
This week
--  As you know we developed a solution for food plants that removes any mold or mildew stains from the media.  This has been a great innovation.
 Well it just got better.
Our solution was put into a wand that delivers the solution into the fabric using ultrasonic waves (not sonic but ultrasonic).   Our solution combined with the ultrasound technology penetrates the media, and breaks up the stain at a sub-micron level.
It is also kind of fun to use.

Why is my collector not working? It's the filters!  Not usually.

What is cavitation?
Cavitation is what happens when there is a loss of dynamic reaction between the prime mover (fan), and the air.  Symptoms  are a change of frequency (sound pitch of fan), and a loss of motor amperage.  I plain terms this is when the filters plug, and the fan cuts the air and free wheels.  It cannot produce the suction or pressure required.  It can sound like a whooshing sound that varies up and down in pitch.
Easy to correct.  Change your filters.
