Basic Information
VERY DISAPPOINTING! I live in Michigan, and found a Ford Expedition through AutoTrader that your dealership had listed. On Friday, 9/25 I called Jon Colon, your internet salesperson, about the vehicle. After several questions and an exchange of pictures, I informed him that I wanted it, and would make the trip there on Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week with cash to complete the sale. We agreed on price, I gave him a credit card and authorized a $500 deposit. I asked him to email me a quote, agreement or anything that I could sign, showing the figures so a) I would know how much cash to bring, and b) so I could reply with my signature and lock down the deal. I wanted to make sure no one else bought this truck. He indicated that 'they don't really write up a sale until the sale is made"...or something like that. He said he would immediately put a 'sold' sign on the truck, and everything would be fine. We called me on Sunday night, 9/27, to inform me that someone else has purchased the truck because they offered more money. He conveyed to me that this is a general business practice with your firm, and that until I take actual delivery, anyone could buy a car out from under me by offering more money. I was shocked. I've purchased over many, many cars in my life and have NEVER been treated this way. I was fully prepared to buy this truck site-unseen because they are so difficult to find. I thought that's what I did. I am utterly disgusted at being treated this way, and sad that these kinds of sales tactics are being used. I will certainly never do business with Golf Mill Ford, and plan on actively leveraging social media to ensure that your other prospective customers are aware of this.
