This could bring us closer to a Wall-E-style future, but it will be one tasty trip all the way down.
Food delivery is no longer limited to pizza and Chinese takeout. New startups are making it possible to order in from a greater variety of restaurants than ever before. It...

I can't disagree! In fact, I agree. LoopPay is a really awesome underrated company. If Apple had purchased LoopPay (the obvious move), analysts would have said, "Oh, this is so great, now Apple can serve retailers even if retailers don't support Apple Pay. Apple Pay is gonna dominate the world!" But since Samsung bought LoopPay, they say, "This isn't important. Apple Pay is gonna dominate the world!"

Apple has a good thing going with Apple Pay. The company has persuaded a lot of retailers to sign up, and some of them are promoting Apple Pay with big signs that reinforce the Apple brand. That's significant. But Samsung will have access to most retailers overnight, and analysts act like that's irrelevant. I am baffled by that. I spoke to several analysts and only one was willing to approach the idea that maybe, just maybe Apple missed out on a big opportunity here.

The U.S. Postal Service will end its Saturday mail service starting August 1. I know they've warned about this for a long time now, and while I don't mail that many letters or packages myself, I will miss Saturday deliveries. There is nothing better than getting a new game delivered on a afternoon knowing that you can play it all day, all night, and all day again on Sunday. It was a magical time. Sure, you can still go to the store and buy games on Saturdays or have them shipped from another service, but it won't be the same.

The more time you spend on Google+, the more you realize how it is an odd mix of Twitter and Facebook -- people share everything and everything, creating a world of distractions for those who participate. Yet it's not quite Facebook and it's not quite Twitter. But it really, really wants to be.

RIM is up another 3% today, while Apple is down more than 10%. It's as if the two firms have switched places. 18 months ago, Apple could do no wrong. The stock kept on soaring. RIM was in the toilet. Now, without any products available to prove that the company has turned itself around, RIM is soaring. Meanwhile, Apple -- perhaps because of the products on store shelves -- is tanking. I can understand people bailing on Apple, but I am baffled by the support for RIM. If RIM proves itself, the investors and analysts will say, "We were right!" If BlackBerry 10 flops, they'll say, "Sell, sell, sell!" and whine about how awful the company is. Wouldn't it have been better to wait and see what happens before jumping to conclusions?
