I ordered calamari and I'm pretty sure I'm eating pig anus... Remember that article? The marinara is canned. It's not stopping me from eating it. Also its after six on a Friday and this place, is dead and I mean dead! If you hate crowds and are ok eating meh food in Gtown you're in luck!

Amazing food and excellent service. Will stop here anytime I'm in town for the chicken fettuccini alfredo!

This was by far the worst restaurant I had ever eaten at. The manager lured my friends and I by promising us wine on the house. We decided to take the offer because we were extremely hungry. After being seated, it took our waiter at least 10 minutes to bring us water and about 20 minutes to bring bread. He rushed us when taking our order and seemed very annoyed with having to serve us. The food was not good. In fact, the margarita pizza we ordered was undercooked and barely had any mozzarella cheese on it. We told our waiter that we weren't pleased with the pizza and he immediately rolled his eyes and became very irritated. His energy was so strong that I thought he would either throw the pizza at us or yell. It became very uncomfortable. The menu is overpriced. The chicken Caesar salad was $17 and barely had any dark green romaine lettuce on it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually iceberg lettuce made to look like romaine. The Fettuccine Alfredo had no flavor and only about 3 strips of chicken was placed on top. I was so disappointed that I wanted to just hurry and finish my meal and leave. When I thought that it couldn't get any worse, our waiter looked at our payment and tip in front of our faces while we were still seated at the table. He rolled his eyes and walked away. We never received the house wine that was promised. I realized that we were played. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Please, save yourself the money and time. You will feel robbed and mistreated.

One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had: I was disappointed to find that il Canale down the block was full so my family saw Paper Moon down the block, looked at the menu, saw there was no wait and came in. It took a very long time for our waiter to take our order and when he did, we asked what was on the vegetable pizza (all of the other pizzas had a description). The waiter's response was "It changes every night. Some nights there's artichoke, some there are onions." My mom (who shared my pizza with) asked what was on it tonight and his response was "You'd have to ask the chef." Frustrated, I went with the Margherita pizza instead. In the meantime there was low-quality bread in a basket. Generic Safeway-brand bread is better than Paper Moon's. When our food quite a while later, instead of the Margherita pizza we received a pizza with onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms on top. I tried telling the waiter but he started walking away as I called him. Hungry, I just ate the pizza. It was alright, nothing special. As I was finishing it, my mother told the waiter he brought us the wrong pizza. She said it wasn't a big deal since we were fine eating it, but to our shock the waiter said "No, this is the Margherita pizza." He then walked away and returned a few minutes later with the check. My mother then told him "I thought a Margherita pizza has basil on it, not onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms." He responded saying "It does have basil under them" (it did not and we had a final slice left to prove). My mother told him there's no basil on this pizza and he said "To get basil added, you need to see the manager". The manager came out after this and my mom explained the situation. She did not accept blame for the mistake. The customer isn't always right, but at Paper Moon, the customer is always wrong.

Food was terrible. Tiny portions. Big prices. LONG wait. This restaurant is not equipped to handle both regular clientele and out of town groups. This place was all show. DO NOT GO HERE!

I've been coming to Paper Moon for years and am shocked at some of these reviews!! Every time I go I have a great experience and am treated wonderfully. The last time I went was this past Sunday night. I wanted to take my wife out for a nice dinner before catching a movie down the street. We walked in and were greeted right away by the familiar faces we've come to know so well. My wife asked that we sit by the window as she loves to people watch. We ordered one of our favorite bottles of wine, Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio and the mussels as our appetizer which always go well together. We then ordered our entrees, the Salmon Alla Roma for me and the filet for my wife. My salmon came with mashed potatoes with asparagus on top and was cooked to perfection. My wife ordered her steak medium and again it was cooked perfectly. As we were finishing up our meal we were able to talk more with the waitstaff as well as the managers who are all so polite and accommodating. We didn't save room for dessert that day, but if you go, they're limoncello cake is really good! Everything here is a delight, the food, the ambiance, the staff!! What's not to like?

This was the absolute worst experience that I have had. I went to DC for my niece's birthday. She selected Paper Moon to eat. We ate outside. It began with maybe 10 minutes after being taken to our table there was an additional table SHOVED in next to ours. My niece was then pinned against the building and flowerbed. Was unable to get out. The people sitting next to us were practically sitting on top of us. Then our food was brought out and we were both famished. My niece found a piece of foil in her dish. She handed it to me and I brought it to the waiter's attention quietly and discreetly so no other patrons became aware of what just happened. The waiter stated that he would bring it to the manager's attention. They did absolutely nothing. I was hoping at the very least maybe a complimentary drink or something of that nature. We received nothing but the $80 bill for 2. I wrote directly to the restaurant's website and they never responded to me. WORST DC EXPERIENCE EVER. They are careless, inconsiderate and disrespectful.

Not impressed at all. Two "beers" was their selection for those of us who likes beers. Bud och Miller Lite, aka expensive water with foam. Our waiter wasn't particularly good. He didn't say much at all, didn't ask us how the food tasted and mostly mumbled, could have been a bad day for him perhaps but it didn't improve our visit. For starters we had the Garlic Bread but it didn't taste much. I had the Chicken Parmesan (Pollo Con Marsala) and it wasn't any good at all. Salty and with a fairly plain tomato sauce. My wife had a pasta of some kind with tomato sauce, she was satisfied but I was to upset over the check for 58 USD for the meal to remember what she ordered. The most expensive meal we had in whole of DC taken into account the amount of food we got for our money. And then my wife even ordered extra pasta for my Pollo Con Marsala. Would not go back or recommend it.
