As a fitness experts elderly are afraid of exercise because they're afraid they might stretch something too far or beak something that can't be healed. 

But in actual fact it is extremely important for older adults to stay active in order to maintain there physical shape, good strength, proper balance and a health metabolism.

When considering armchair exercises using a chair its better to use a chair without wheels. You should sit with your feet flat on the floor as well as knees bent at right angles and try by all means possible to avoid chair with arms as this restricts your movement.
