I had dinner here for the second time last night and it was another great experience. We had a reservation for three at 5:30pm and were promptly seated. I started with a lamb meatball and it was excellent. Main course: Bratwurst which comes with kraut and potato salad. Delicious. And I also ordered a side of roasted broccolini which was flawless. Every bite was perfect. The others had the half-chicken and the ravioli and both were very happy with the food and the service. I will be back!

Can't believe they get away with such horrendous and inattentive service. Nobody deserves to pay $$$ for such a disappointing serving experience. Yes, I've worked in a restaurant before and I understand the stress that comes with multi-tasking, but there is absolutely no excuse for it at a medium to high fare restaurant. Came here for restaurant week, and after ordering the pre-fixe menu, our server LITERALLY disappeared. I didn't see her until the end when I had to hail a busboy for the check. I had to hail down for water, another drink, to bus my food away...That is never ok. As far as food is concerned, you can find similar American-new establishments with better service. Don't even waste your freaking time.

This review is for BH's happy hour. I have been here before for dinner and was impressed with the quality of the food. Came back just in time for happy hour and had the truffle fries (bowl for $5), artisan cheese board ($4 for each type of cheese), BH slider ($3), house wine ($5 for a glass), and an order of their hanger steak. All were amazing. They also have a salad, their famous deviled eggs, and shrimp skewers on the hh menu. My boyfriend and I were more then full from our order and surprised at the inexpensive bill for the quality of the food. I recommend people who want to try all different types of their specialties to go to happy hour (ends at 6:30) towards the end of it, and also indulge their dinner entrees. Best of both worlds and also the best truffle fries I've had in San Diego. They have top notch service as well. Our waiter was nice and knowledgable about the menu.

The meatloaf is out of this world and the service was terrific. The atmosphere is industrial chic and very mellow!

Great open floor plan with lots of wood and metal accents. A great place to relax with a glass of wine. Opted for the bar this time and had great service from bartenders. Split an order of the happy hour pulled pork taco - yummy! and a slider. Both had great flavor and were quite a bit of food for happy hour. Look forward to coming back for dinner.

Everything about this restaurant is just right! The staff are knowledgeable, the pear salad is to die for, the wine is lovely, the decor is done exactly right, and everything always seems to go right when I'm there. Did I mention the pear salad? Try it! It was completely beautiful.

Our Jet Blue flight from New York arrived at 7:45pm and by 9pm we were at Bankers Hill enjoying a great casual dinner. I had deviled eggs then hanger steak. Each of our friends had something else. Terrific. I can't think of a nicer way to arrive in San Diego.....that Jet Blue doesn't serve "real food" is a good thing. We were ready for dinner when we arrived. Funny, we didn't realize this is owned by the same fellow who owns our other favorite here, The Market. By the way, there is more than enough choice for the gluten intolerant and they are careful about this. One last thing, the bartender last night was particularly stingy with the red wine. Our friend mentioned it to the waiter and he brought a second glass "on him". Maybe it was a one time thing. Maybe not.

Pleasantly greeted by the staff and made welcome. The manager, Holly Brooks-Thornton was exceptionally gracious in describing the wine offerings. Even though it is a relaxed atmosphere you can entertain your loved one, or friends, in a proper setting.
