Good reminder +Sebastiaan van Aard! In the US my health insurance (which is very good by US standards) doesn't cover diving. My experience has been that most US divers should carry insurance specific to SCUBA diving and ALL divers should check to make sure they're covered!

Great story thanks! I haven't had that exact problem but my GoPro 3+ has a little brain damage that makes it flaky sometimes. In its defense it has been thrown from my car twice (once at 75MPH) and still mostly works.

Thanks for sharing! Too bad you couldn't capture the bioluminescence but some things are better appreciated than captured huh?

Hi Sebastian, I like torches that have adjustable brightness. I often find that a fairly 'dim' light is more beneficial especially in low viz. I prefer metal housings - they just feel better to me. Adjustable light cone would be cool if it's possible as well. Evenly spread light - many lamps even LED have uneven light patters which can be distracting. I guess my last thought right now is to use LED (use LEDs that are as close to natural light as possible).

Very best of luck please keep us all updated on your project!

Hi Divebuddies! So, as I continue to look for new features and content to improve the blog I have quickly found out why many blogs move to a self hosted model. Rather than wait and risk problems with more content and impact on more readers I will be…
