This simple but amazing remix of House of the Rising Sun by The Animals was made by a person I simply know as PURETUNE. We would love to work with this cat. The instruments used are listed on his Vimeo as follows: “a. HP Scanjet 3P, Adaptec SCSI card and a computer powered by Ubuntu v9.10 OS as the Vocals. (hey, the scanner is old) b. Atari 800XL with an EiCO Oscilloscope as the Organ c. Texas instrument Ti-99/4A with a Tektronix Oscilloscope as ...

Digital Bolex camera looks like an 4K HD dream. Hope the kickstarter gets funded.

FROM TOR.COM:
"Alongside the strong female lead and the fascinating flying machines that would also become Miyazaki trademarks the movie has another important legacy — its bumbled US release. When New World pictures got their hands on the movie in the mid 80s they butchered it — heavily editing the story to remove it’s ecologically themes and leaving a terribly dubbed, dumbed-down shell they called Warriors of the Wind. Miyazaki was so dismayed with the results that he vowed to a strict “no edits” policy for all foreign releases when Studio Ghibli was formed — leading to the now infamous Harvey Weinstein story. Apparently upon hearing that the Miramax boss wanted to edit Princess Mononoke to make it more marketable, Ghibli sent him a Japanese katana sword with a brief, but clear message — “no cuts.”"

I couldn't have imagined that stitching together one second of video for each day of 2011 would be this incredible. And there's just no way I could love this 365 second year-in-a-life any more than I already do. More »
