Late June, mid-Somerset. The hazy calm of the balmy summer evenings, the long, lazy days..... hang on, what's that noise???  And who are all these people??? Yep, its Glasto time again! So there I found myself again, on the hallowed fields of Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset for the 2015 Glastonbury Festival of Performing Arts. By no means the first time I've trod the dusty/muddy fields (delete where applicable) of the Glastonbury Festival (it's the sixteenth!), it was the first time I took my camera in. It never amazes me how much changes each year, yet at the same time being anchored in the familiar from the unshakable foundations of the Pyramid Stage one end right through to the hippy hotspot of the stone circles..... #Glasto   #GlastonburyFestival   #GlastoPhotography   #FestivalPhotography

Gavin & Steph's Compton Verney wedding photography was taken on what was one of the hottest, if not THE hottest, day of the year! But the sweltering heat was perfect to explore Compton Verney's summer season installation: The Dan Pearson and William Morris Meadow. The large scale exhibition was inspired by William Morris' iconic Trellis wallpaper designs, creating beautiful maze like pathways through the lush meadow to explore.
Away from The Dan Pearson and William Morris Meadow, it was great to explore Compton Verney. The river and bridge make truly stunning surroundings and always inspire beautiful wedding photography, and the galleries themselves offer beautiful, open spaces with literal works of art as backdrops! #ComptonverneyWeddingPhotography   #weddingphotography

It's not every day you photograph a wedding that has, in some small way, been inspired by Jurassic Park, but in July that's exactly what happened to me! Now, I must point out that that the bride and Groom were not dressed at velociraptors, but there was a 'subtle' theme (to quote the Bride!) going on. Which is all good by me! So you may notice the odd dinosaur popping up in Phil and Anita's Roughmoor Farm wedding photograph, or the totally amazing Jurassic Park jeep, which included an insane amount of authentic detail.

Roughmoor Farm was a really great place for some wedding photography; it's beautiful, laid back setting was perfect for the mood Phil and Anita were going for, with the naturally picturesque grounds offering perfect and quirky backdrops for their wedding photography.

A trip to the south coast was the order of the day for a spot of Dorset wedding photography at Athelhampton House in Tolpuddle. With Matt and Alyce living so close to such a beautiful venue as Athelhampton House, having their wedding there really must have been a very easy decision to make. The grounds were stunning, making a fantastic setting for some beautiful shots of just Matt and Alyce, and even though the rain set in during the afternoon, it wasn't a problem as the 15th century house proved just as picturesque.
Before the wedding Alyce enquired as to if I could take a couple of specific photos; of Matt and Alyce surround by a sparkler trail. This is a tricky shot to pull off, but loving a challenge so I jumped at the chance!  Such a shot requires certain conditions to be met, and without all of them being met the shot would fail for one reason or another. So when the sun went down armed with a handful of sparklers, I headed out in to the gardens to find the darkest spot I could. It didn't take long to work get set up (although the biggest problem turned out to be that I'm not too good at drawing hearts with sparklers!), so with Matt & Alyce in place, and me running about like a fool, we ended up with some pretty stunning Dorset wedding photography.

Following on from Mike and Nicola's Clifton Suspension Bridge engagement photography back in April, it was time for the main event; a spot of Hestercombe Gardens Wedding Photography. Located just outside Taunton in Somerset, Hestercombe Gardens proved to be an amazing venue to photograph, full of sprawling woods, stunning gardens and beautiful architecture. The grounds really are breathtaking, everywhere I pointed my camera proved to be another perfect backdrop for Mike and Nicola. It really is one of those venues where you wish you had hours to wander around with the Bride and Groom so you can discover all that it has to offer.

Mike and Nicola's wedding was also the first chance I've had to do a spot of aerial photography, where I was able to remotely control a camera attached to a Phantom DJI and fly it way way WAY up in the sky to get some truly unique Somerset Wedding Photography.
