Insightful and Extremely Depressing - Review of Detachment
Right off the bat I have to say it: Detachment (2011) is possibly the most depressing movie I've ever watched. One of the aspects which made Detachment so damn depressing was that many of its themes unfortunately not are rare occurrences in the real world. It was like it gave an insight into a depressing side of the state of our world.

I have a hard time putting into words how I feel about this movie. Yes, it was depressing as hell but at the same time it was a very good movie. It was insightful, interesting, and, most of all, powerful. I was at no time bored despite the extremely serious themes and slow pace. So if you don't mind a movie being depressing I can highly recommend Detachment; it's one of the better movies of its genre.
