Very Silly and Extremely Entertaining - Review of The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec
I actually thought I already had reviewed Les aventures extraordinaires d'Adèle Blanc-Sec / The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec (2010) - but apparently not. So here it goes:

This movie this something extraordinary (as the titles also indicates). It has a few similarities with the American Mummy movies, but is far (FAR!) better (they're not even close to competing on the same level). The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec is a very silly movie for the most part but it somehow manages to have its serious parts be very moving and captivating while a lot of silliness is going on at the same time. It is all in all completely hilarious, interesting, entertaining, and intriguing. No, it is not an amazing movie - but it is far better than any other movie trying accomplish the same sort of atmosphere or mood, and it should be applaud for that.

Watch this movie with a few friends while drinking and you'll have a hell of a time. The dialogue is snappy so if you speak French you'll probably enjoy it even more but subtitles work just fine too (just don't watch a dubbed version). This is one of the "not too serious" comedies which I can recommend the highest. It is extremely entertaining and charming in its own special kind of way. A movie you really should give shot.
