“Intrinsic Motivation” is a warm, earthy 24x18 inch acrylic and graphite abstract painting on unstretched canvas. The art is part of the ongoing series, "What Lies Beneath". This collection is brought forth from a journey through many layers below the surface, both physically and mentally. What we find when we go deeper, under landscapes, the sea, our human emotions, and our psychological motivations.

Ever wondered what the art you see online might look like on your wall? Me too. There’s even a fancy sounding word used to describe art on walls or art created with the space in mind – or in this case, photographs of my art in a cool studio space. The word is in situ and it literally translates to “in place.”

Now that we have dissected the terminology, let’s get on with some of the paintings I showed at Jackson Street Studio in May. While I often use mockups of inspirational spaces to showcase my art, I was excited to have a real-life beautiful loft studio space to snap some photos of my work!

In the age of Time's Up you would think that Amazon Studios wouldn't be so quick to cut Mozart in the Jungle, as it addresses the problematic underrepresentation of women in the arts.

Last year I created an +Instagram hashtag project where I used the letters of the alphabet as writing prompts to share my art, creative process, and inspiration. Today I'm sharing it all on my blog. I hope you enjoy it! xo
