You can always tell a real friend: When you've made a fool of yourself he doesn't feel you've done a permanent job.

He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, but he who repeats or harps on a matter separates even close friends.
(Proverbs 17:9 AMP)

Experience teaches us to "read between the lines." It's easy to take one person's side over another before you hear the whole story. We've all done it. But most disagreements are caused by a lack of communication - two-way communication.

Any story sounds true until someone tells the other side and sets the record straight. (Proverbs 18:17 TLB)

Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
in the light of His glory and grace

Romantic love has no elasticity to it. It can never be stretched; it simply shatters. Mature love, the kind demanded of a good marriage, must stretch, as the sinful human condition is such that all of us bear conflicting emotions. "Her hatred is real as her love is real," Porter explains of the young wife. This is the reality of the human heart, the inevitability of two sinful people pledging to live together, with all their faults, for the rest of their lives...
