Great place. We were doing a day trip to Howth from Dublin and after a long walk from the train station and through the cliffs we ate here. The Howth Chowder was awesome, as well as the fish and chips, but that hot bowl was like heaven in a cold January day. We sat by the fireplace and it was perfect.

Thursday was just gorgeous so we decide to run out to Howth, have a sandwich and a walk in the sunshine. First stop The Summit - and it all went downhill from there. We placed our order: Pt Guinnes, 7 up a toasted cheese sandwich and a toasted BLT. Fifteen minutes later and we were still waiting, we called the waiter. I asked for the drinks, sorry he said and disappeared. Five minutes later he was back, sans drinks, could he take our order again! We ordered again. Once again he said sorry and told it was only his second day! Eventually drinks arrived and the print out of the order. Print out showed a chicken sandwich. I called the waitress. She apologised and said it was the waiter's second day. I told her that was her problem, not ours. Eventually, the food came. Toasted cheese sandwich probably made with Easy Singles, Toasted BLT which was soggy, the chips were nice. We left, we should have left in the first 15 minutes - never again

Ordinary pub with some nice outside seating for sunny days. Always good to stop here after the cliff walk!
