If you ever thought buy organic wasn't worth the cost, think again. Not to mention you won't be poisoned with chemicals.

The purpose of the study was to compare the mineral composition of vegetables from regions of the United States. Samples of cabbage, lettuce, snapbeans, spinach, and tomatoes were obtained from commercial fields and analyzed for mineral composition.
The authors report variations in mineral composition and use of fertilizers within these regions. This study is often misrepresented as evidence supporting the position that organically grown foods are superior in minerals and trace elements to those grown conventionally. In fact, the study did not compare synthetic fertilizer practice to organic.

FB post from Robert Pruzinsky to Forks Over Knives: "My son has congenital heart disease. He's 8. Seven months ago after seeing FOK we decided to give it a shot and go completely vegan and no oil for 2 weeks. We haven't looked back and we're still going strong. Today we were at Children's National Medical Center in DC to see my son's cardiologist. The results are in. He is now healthier than before, but not by a little by a lot. He's gone from being in critical stages for is Mitral Valve Stenosis to moderate. This might not seem like a big deal, but it means the difference from having another surgery in 6 months vs. 6 years. The longer we can put it off the better off he is. His doctor was in disbelief with the results, but extremely happy. I told her about FOK but she's never heard of it. I'll be sending her a copy when I get one. Thanks so much for sharing all this information."

This is so amazing and stories like this should be exemplar of why a vegan lifestyle is condusive to good health. Cheers to Mr. Pruzinsky and his son!

I am so tired of researchers feeling it is okay to give the public crap products because they feel there is no evidence to support it being harmful for human consumption. The mentality of waiting until there is a public outbreak of food borne illness is not the time to start presenting this research. While this article gives a clever spin on "pink slime safety" I still feel revolted. Let's speak out. They claim prices will go up without the LFTB in our beef supply, but here's an idea: Get rid of the LFTB, sell what we already have, do not increase suppy by 1.5 million cows, AMERICANS DECREASE YOUR CONSUMTION OF BEEF!!!! Seriously. More cows= more pollutants, more E Coli outbreaks, more manure run-off into our depleating water supply, MORE UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES!!!
Following Monday's announcement by Beef Products Inc. that the company would suspend operations at three of the four facilities that produce lean finely textured beef (LFTB), many wonder what last...

The number one question I get asked as a vegan is "How do you get your protien?" I think the Vegetarian Resource Group gives an exellent breakdown on the the protien dish. Educate others, we don't need animal protien and there are other sources without having to combine some "cocktail" or beans and rice.

For my vegan athlete friends. Vegan protein! Tell me, which ones do you prefer? I am wanting to try Raw Protein, all natural raw grains, legumes, and veggies for about 17 grams of protein and a ton of fiber! Suggestions welcomed!

"What the FDA is saying is: We’re going to keep studying it and in the meantime you’re going to still eat it and then maybe later we’ll tell you it’s not safe." Thanks for the "protection". Know your food, what's in it, where it came from, and take part in telling Congress to stop using us as guinea pigs. You don't give substances to the public before they're tested and then come back and say "oops"; you test it first and then make people aware of the dangers!
The verdict's in, and environmentalists aren't happy. Neither are health advocates, scientists, and baby mommas everywhere. On Friday, after dragging its feet on an appeal filed by environment...
