What do you do when someone is infringing on your trademark? Do you hire a lawyer and send a nasty cease and desist letter? Nope, not in the new paradigm! You reach out and see how you can support each other.

That just happened when a colleague contacted me about Anastasia Netri's LIFT event coming up soon. Her logo is technically infringing on the LIFT logo that I have trademarked. So I contacted her to see how we could support each other and now she will be sharing LIFT Foundation System with her community as a JV partner. A win/win all around.

Don't forget to protect your brand with a Trademark so you can have standing to contact a potential collaborator next time this happens in your space. Use the little superscript TM next to any brands/logos/names you want to "own".

And remember as I always say, "your biggest competitor is just one heartbeat away from becoming your best collaborative partner."

This is an awesome app to watch the Oscars and why Twitter kicks Google+'s butt for news events

I'm using Streamboard on my iPad tonight to watch feedback about the Oscars from people around the world.

Just look at the speed! There is no way to see this kind of flow using any other service other than Twitter. Flow is what Twitter does better than any other service and Streamboard is my favorite way to watch all tweets with, say, a single hashtag, or single keyword. In this case I'm watching any Tweet that says "Oscar."

One thing is you can filter it in various ways so you can slow the flow down to a readable speed, but look at just how fast it is!

The app costs $1.99 and you can get it at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/streamboard/id479659083?mt=8
