Every year, I come across a lot of enthusiasm for helping the Opensim core developer team to grow. And I frequently come across news stories about VR platforms raising significant sums (we are talking literally 100s of millions of $). I am aware that the mechanics of a free software movement is different from the proprietary ones. As a community, I have always wondered what could be done to encourage this growth? I thought I would get the ball rolling by asking a question, you are encouraged to post your own proposals or polls as well. So let me start with this one.

Do you think OpenSim's development could be helped if there were a mechanism in place that requires commercial users of OpenSim (like myself) to pay a percentage of their earnings? #opensim

Just thought I would share this and see what happens ... this house based on the RezMela ML tech allows you to generate NPCs and make them do what you want, was having a bit of fun ... within what I thought were acceptable limits. #opensim #rezmela

I strongly encourage you to stream your OpenSim activities (that you want to share of course) on Facebook. It does help outreach a lot. To stream you need to install OBS https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-stream-to-facebook-live.391/

:) And do remember that NPCs can be rezzed as easily as bookmarks ...

Creating a 3D bookmark for private organization and sharing #opensim

We are using our Malleable Linkset technology to implement a social bookmarking application. We click on a button on the MOAP browser to generate a 3D bookmark that we can place anywhere according to taste. Here we are organizing the bookmarks according to various music categories. Clicking on a bookmark will trigger the right video to played on the MOAP screen. The whole set up is saved of course. No more digging in folders to find bookmarks. #opensim
