Finally it seems someone is trying to doing something about the martial law going on in Pennsylvania.

"He said this was his house. I brought him home." She was wearing dark glasses. I couldn't see her eyes, couldn't gauge her expression.

"You brought..."

"Yes. He was all the way down there, with no adult." She motioned to a park bench about 150 yards from my house. A bench that is visible from my front porch. A bench where he had been playing with my 8-year-old daughter, and where he decided to stay and play when she brought our dog home from the walk they'd gone on.

"You brought him home... from playing outside?" I continued to be baffled.

And then the woman smiled condescendingly, explained that he was OUTSIDE. And he was ALONE. And she was RETURNING HIM SAFELY. To stay INSIDE. With an ADULT. I thanked her for her concern, quickly shut the door and tried to figure out what just happened.

Then the cops showed up. Then CPS showed up.

The novel phenomenon of American upper-middle-class helicopter-parenting, in which kids are scheduled, monitored, and supervised for their "enrichment" at all times, is now being enforced on others.

It's an odd way to "help" a child who is unsupervised for five minutes to potentially inflict years of stress, hours of court appearances, and potential legal fees and fines on their parents. Children who experience discreet instances of suboptimal parenting aren't always aided by threatening their parents with stiff, potentially family-jeopardizing legal penalties. The risk of five or even 10 minutes in a temperate, locked car while mom shops is still a lot better than years in group homes and foster systems.

Watching this Snowdon interview on NBC. Who is this crazy person they sent to interview him? He is making claims like "most people think Snowdon is a traitor" with a straight face. This guy lives in a fantasy world. Snowden is a hero and you Mr. Interviewer are a traitor.

So, I saw this +Reason post and it got thinking how this anti-Rights textbook stuff has been going on for a long time.  So, I picked up a book I got at yard sale for $.25 entitled, "You and the Law" by Reader's Digest Copyright 1971 and this is what I found in this supposed "reference book"

So, I wondering, what is the most expensive thing in an American life?

I have tracked every dollar of my spending in Quicken since Feb. 2004 and thus know the answer for my life.  Anyone else know theirs, or care to take a guess on mine?

So, I just got invited to this community.

Weird, I wonder how long this will last.....

A great example of how private groups can and will increase safety without government force and mandates.  I, for one, will refuse to buy my pet a safety harness without a "Center for Pet Safety" seal of approval.

"Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago"

Wow, I kinda suspected that you are the kinda person that suckerpunches strangers for looking at you funny.  But now we have proof....

And then he says the protests should stay nonviolent!!  Why would today's young people stay nonviolent, with you up there saying you would turn to violence just like Martin?
