A family Passover memory. My mother remembers as a teenager (in the 1940s) the first time she ever saw gefilte fish in a jar. Until then, the only method of preparation was what her mother - my grandmother - did: buying a fish at the market, cooking it and preparing the dish herself. For the record, gefilte fish from a jar tastes about the way you'd expect - meh.

I randomly stirred the pot on the stove, and The Miracle of the Spoon appeared as shown in the photo below, just in time for Passover and Easter. Coincidence or divine intervention? I think his wry smile contains a message for us, but I'm not sure what it is. Any guesses?
