Going where the gypsy winds blow... My journey as an entrepreneur began when my love of art, anthropology, and the Southwest led me to Santa Fe, NM where I started Gypsy Wolf Marketing. As a marketing consultant, I develop marketing and fundraising campaigns that bridge the gap for artists, art galleries, and art organizations between traditional marketing avenues and social / new media marketing. As an artist, I understand the unique marketing challenges that members of the arts community face. I also maintain a presence in the corporate world where I'm the Vice President of Marketing for a global technology company headquartered in Boston, MA. I've always been a bit of a gypsy so I've taken advantage of my travels to immerse myself in different arts and cultures all over the world. These experiences are reflected in how I live my life, as well as my artwork. Art school provided me with a love of art history and the necessary technical skills in painting, printmaking, collage, textile art, jewelry design, ceramics, and weaving. And life in the Southwest provides the inspiration. I'm interested in the arts of Southern Asia, especially India, Bhutan, Nepal, and Tibet, as well as the art of Kiki Smith and Nancy Spero. I bring my global experience in marketing and the arts to bear as a member of the Board of Directors for TransCultural Exchange, a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting international art and the understanding of world cultures through art exhibitions, cultural exchanges, and educational programs. There I'm responsible for the development of global marketing and fundraising campaigns targeting international artists, residency programs, museums, and art departments at the university level. In addition, I'm the Surface Design Association's New Mexico Area Representative and I also volunteer at the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market and the Museum of International Folk Art. I'm a member of the Surface Design Association, the International Polymer Clay Association, the American Tapestry Alliance, the Handweavers Guild of America, and the Textile Society of America. I'm passionate about cultural entrepreneurship and the preservation of native arts and crafts of indigenous cultures so I actively support Kala Raksha, Girl Effect, and the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market. Beginning in 2012, a percentage of Gypsy Wolf Marketing's revenues will be donated to these organizations. I've built a life that many people consider eccentric and unconventional. But, I learned long ago to embrace and celebrate my eccentricities. I'm a firm believer in facing my fears, moving forward anyway, and building my wings on the way down.
