The very best organizations in the world manage by data, so why not schools? The OECD is trying to change that with their newest initiative, PISA4U.

Part of the initiative includes developing case studies for schools who are thought of as models for good education. Up first? BASIS Curriculum Schools. Why? Because not only are our programs lauded for academic success, but the way we use data to manage our programs is unprecedented.

The topic of class size in schools is no stranger to debate. Often private schools will tout a smaller class size as a key factor in student success. But, how much truth is there to the idea that a smaller class size is better?

Turns out, not much. Andreas Schleicher of the OECD that administers the PISA exam to 15-year-olds around the world to compare performance internationally shares, "the key factor is not the size of the class – it's the quality of teaching strategies. Given the choice between a great teacher and a small class, pick the great teacher."
