Exhibition: March 2014 – June 2014
Josef Marek – Spaces of Illusion
This solo exhibition provides an insight into current creative work of the artist Josef Marek. This czech glass artist is ranked among the foremost contemporary artists working with glass. While using the pure geometric shape in its most abstract form, he creates out of glass unreal illusive objects, sometimes combined with other materials. He can find an optimal angle for the refraction of the light which is influenced by the color of the glass. This highlights unexpected views and perspectives of the object, allowing Marek to achieve stunning glass sculptures.

I was busy with the organizing and finally with the opening of my new Glass-Gallery in Hamburgs HafenCity (Germany ;) ) . We are specialised in contemporary czech glass-art. Take a look at the pictures and if you like them it would be really great if you also will like our Facebook page. Thx a lot :)

Opening of our new Gallery
Glasgalerie Stölting in Hamburg’s HafenCity

In addition to the location in Hittfeld the opening of “Glasgalerie Stölting” will launch another attractive meeting point in Hamburg’s HafenCity for experts, collectors and lovers of contemporary Czech glass art. Two festive events and exhibitions under the collective title “Czech Glass Art – For 25 Years In Germany” will form the setting for the presentation of the elite of Czech glass art in “Glasgalerie Hittfeld” and in “Glasgalerie Stölting” on October 2013.

The reason for this double event is the 25th anniversary of “Glasgalerie Hittfeld” that has had an international reputation since 1988 as the venue of choice for the stars of the Czech glass art scene, as well as the opening of “Glasglarie Stölting” in a prime location of Hamburg’s HafenCity, managed by Tom Stölting, the son of the founder of “Glasgalerie Hittfeld”, Eliska Stölting.

Eliska and Tom Stölting present unique glass sculptures from 1988 till 2013 and give a fascinating insight into the handicraft and creative skills of 30 internationally known Czech glass artists.
Both exhibitions are under the patronage of the Ambassador of the Czech Republik in the Federal Republic of Germany, S.E. Dr. Rudolf Jindrák.

Featured Artist on czech-glassart.com

Bohumil Eliáš jun.
The artist's education as a classical sculptor becomes apparent in his work. For him glass is an equivalent material that he uses together with other sculptural materials, such as bronze, metal or stone etc., thereby taking advantage of the transparency and the reflection of glass for his artistic expression.

New Artist on czech-glassart.com

Ivana Houserová
The artist’s present objects are based on the elementary form of a circle or a triangle that give an almost mystical impression due to the expressive surface and the warm colors. If you interested in more detailed information, please visit our website.
