I hope you'll tune in for the 11pm news.  We are starting our series on babies born addicted to drugs.  A very difficult but important story to tell. You may be surprised what part of MA is dealing with this epidemic.

Anchor for Chronicle
Introduction
In May 2013, J.C. Monahan became co-anchor of WCVB-TV Channel 5's nightly newsmagazine, "Chronicle." Prior to that, she was the meteorologist for the weekday editions of "The EyeOpener" and "Midday" newscasts, after joining WCVB-TV Channel 5 as a staff meteorologist in September 2001.

Monahan also served as a guest meteorologist on ABC’s "Good Morning America" and created and hosted the weekly talk show "Boston’s View" for WCVB's website, WCVB.com, and the weekend "EyeOpener" newscasts. In that capacity she interviewed such notable personalities as comedians Dane Cook and Lenny Clarke, actress Jane Seymour, Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer and sports stars Cam Neely and Jerry Remy.

Previously, Monahan served as the weekend meteorologist for New England Cable News (NECN), a regional cable network. Prior to joining NECN, Monahan worked as the weekend forecaster and entertainment reporter for WPXT-TV in Portland, Maine.

Early in her career, she was the news director for WZON-AM in Bangor, Maine, where she earned awards from the Associated Press and Maine Association of Broadcasters for Best Radio Newscast and Best Series Reporting.

After receiving a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Maine, Monahan graduated from Mississippi State University's Broadcast Meteorology Program. She is a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society. In 2004, Monahan was awarded the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval in recognition of her professionalism in weather forecasting and reporting.

A Newton native, Monahan resides in the Boston area with her husband and two daughters.
