Using HIV to fight leukemia.

The story and the music at the end (Zoe Keating) sent chills down my spine :)

I'm a bit sketched out by Lyft, a ride sharing app.

I feel like I'm watching a slow motion train wreck unfold. Getting into a car with a stranger that isn't insured and working for a professional company...

Or the vice versa: Allowing a total stranger into your car...

High tech hitchhiking. What could possibly go wrong?

Are GCM registrations not supposed to be leaked? Can you unregister a GCM registration from the server side with the API secret?

Snowden charged with espionage, extradition requested

Is it really espionage if you are whistleblowing the unconstitutional/illegal acts of your government? Isn't that patriotism?
Hong Kong authorities are asked to arrest leaker of documents that revealed secret surveillance program.

Well, of course this is true patriotism, Koushik. No question about that. And that's called "courage" also. And here are two other truths, while I'm at it. 1) government is nothing but force; it's not supposed to be good, it's not supposed to be bad, it's not supposed to care, it is no family; but when the people agree to have it around if only for a rule of law to protect and defend their inalienable rights, it better does so, or it becomes ILLEGITIMATE. And then what? "Enough is enough!" is a perfectly normal and legitimate reaction for the people to have, IMO. Who do they think they are? Oh yeah, "but they got 'elected' ". Right. Like votes gotten thru bribes or cheap promises would make them god-like, I suppose? Any scammer can do that, with a nice suit. Anyway, second truth: 2) Nobody among these supermen control freaks insatiable for always more power could EVER answer Bastiat's question : http://bastiat.org/en/the_law.html#SECTION_G063

How come? Oh, wait, nevermind... "Q.E.D."

I called this a while ago:

No more 30 minute waits at a Tesla Supercharger station. They'll just swap your battery out in 90 seconds.
Electric car maker can slap in new battery in less time than it takes to get gas.

How many of your friends use a custom ROM (based on +CyanogenMod)?

Vote below. Poll is regarding a new feature I'm working on for +CyanogenMod. Let the speculation begin.

I'm all for more Android powered cameras.

I bought a Sony RX100 a while back. Fantastic photos. But getting photos off and onto a computer and then onto cloud storage is a chore.

And sharing directly to a social network is an impossibility.

Also, in before "you should get +CyanogenMod running on it".

Oh, recording industry, you never cease to amaze me.

Buying a physical CD and getting the MP3s included for free is cheaper than just buying the MP3s.

Via a friend on Facebook: "I suspect it is some weird licensing issue. Perhaps the music labels have set a floor on MP3 album prices. But the physical CD is priced like any physical good, and the price floated lower. And perhaps separately, Amazon made deal to include the MP3s with any physical album they sell."

I'm guessing this boneheaded practice will be used to state that there's still a large consumer demand for CDs.

It's a mind trick they are playing. They could have just put the price of CD album, but putting an mp3 album's price alongside makes you more likely to buy the cd album than if putting just the price of mp3 album, because it gives you something to compare to. Dan Ariely, a behavioral economist discusses the exact same thing in his book, Predictably irrational.
