Got seated in 25 minutes. great service, casual atmosphere and (super) generous portion! I would recommend and definitely go back. Be aware though, you may have to wait a while if you go for dinner. I waited an hour once.It Is Very Good Sirvice..............!

Reservations are highly recommended. This isn't authentic Vietnamese food, but rather Vietnamese fusion. Definitely try the mixed drinks, which are done really well. Foodwise, be sure to get the shaking beef! Spring rolls are pretty good too. For a more affordable lunch option, Out the Door is a take-out only offshoot on the other side of the restaurant in the Ferry Building.

Delicious modern Vietnamese cuisine by the water. The food was amazing, especially the pork belly appetizer and the papaya salad. Very accommodating for all the different dietary requirements our group had. The cocktails were very good and there is also an extensive wine list.

Located at the backside of San Francisco's Ferry Building, this has been a favorite of mine for some time! Reservations recommended for dinner and sometimes lunch but the bar is always a good possibility when dining by yourself. Cocktail: Hotel Naçional "barbancourt 8yr rum, apricot brandy, pineapple gum, lime, angostura bitters, served up", we're off to a great start! Lunch Entree: Caramelized Wild Gulf Shrimp "garlic, yellow onion, caramel chili sauce". That chili sauce adds just a nice touch of spice to the sweetness of the perfectly cooked shrimp. Ordered some Jasmine Rice to go with it. Perfect! I've had dessert here before and it is not to be missed but no room today. If the Lychee Cotton Candy is available, that is a MUST HAVE!

The Slanted Door is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. It's very dependable. Our waitress Darcy was amazing. She was very attentive and friendly. The food is always amazing!!! I am hungry for it just talking about it.

You Have To Want To Eat Here This was not quite what I had in mind for my final dinner in San Francisco. We were steered here by a colleague who's aunt liked it, and we had a taste for Vietnamese food. We were told this was Vietnamese Fusion and it sounded interesting. We arrived just in time to get a table. Shortly after we were seated, the restaurant filled completely. We found the menu a little hard to follow, and to be honest, had we not been so hungry, I would have suggested that we go back to the hotel to eat. Based on the server's recommendation that we dine family style and share dishes, our order was a deviation from what we would have ordered since we needed to select things that both of us could agree on. We selected the green papaya salad (which had we asked questions about we would not have ordered - our fault), the crispy imperial rolls, the pan seared day boat scallops, and the stir fried wild gulf shrimp. The salad was a complete disappointment. We both really wanted a salad, with greens in it. We should have asked more questions. The salad was primarily noodles, which stuck together such that they were hard to eat. You either got a huge mouthful, or a couple of strands. We quickly abandoned any attempt to eat it. That $12, a steep price for what we received, was wasted. The rolls were VERY tasty, although we quickly abandoned wrapping the up in lettuce or adding noodles as that diminished our ability to taste them. I think there were six small pieces, but at $13 they seemed a bit pricey to me. The scallops were large and perfectly cooked, but a bit dull and lacking in seasoning. The sauce started off with interesting notes, but quickly faded to bland. We didn't have a $28 experience with them, and didn't even finish eating the scallops. The hit of the meal was the stir-fried shrimp. It was packed with flavor, and the dish had a mild bite that was a pleasant note along with the sweet and savory elements. We were glad that we had ordered a small order of rice as it made up. All in all, this $87 dollar meal for two (no drinks - pre-tip) was a waste for us. Granted, the dishes were packed with fresh, healthy ingredients, but it was far from what we expected. I can see why some people might want to eat here, but we wish we had passed on it. It was an expensive lesson. As a side note, when busy, the restaurant is very noisy with out much to absorb the sound, and so conversation was a bit challenging. Service was generally fast, and very polite.

Everything about this place screams amazing. From the open kitchen, to the service execution to the quality of the food - 5 stars all around. This is the type of place where you order a bunch of stuff and share everything - the menu looks pricy, but you get a lot of food and you fill up fast. If I ever go back to San Fran, I will be making a stop here - definitely a must try.

The food was excellent and freshly prepared. The wait time is to be desired , but the food is so good that it's worth the wait each time! I would highly recommend.
