First pizza place I was introduced to when I moved to Austin 4 years ago and I STILL love it! The staff is amazing and friendly, always willing to give suggestions on what they like, which I personally enjoy. My favorite dish is the Godfather, a pie piled high with different meats and a rich sauce, so good! I also love the fact that they stay open late. Located on one of , if not THE most popular street in Austin, I find comfort in the fact that I know after a night of debauchery on Dirty 6th, I can swing by and pick up a slice of pizza to go for the ride home!

Been their twice after a long night and the pizza never disappointed. You pick out a slice and they heat it up for you in the oven. Big slices as well for the money.

Such a great place after a night downtown or a pit stop in the middle of downtown outings. The pizza is always delicious and there is never a disappointment, unless the guy in front of you got the last piece. There is always a good variety to choose from, the line always goes by fairly quickly even if there looks to be a wait. Fairly priced as well for being located in the heart of downtown.

You don't know what you're missing! Go ahead and charge me. I plead guilty! I'm from Chicago, and if there are two things Chicagoans know and love it's sports and pizza. Heck, I still pay $80 to have my favorite pizzas flown in from Chicago on special occasions (like when the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup)! Like many others on this board, I have foolishly overlooked Roppolos as a serious contender on the Austin pizza scene. "Great pizza for late Friday night...", says the typical 6th Street crawler review. "Oh, that's just bar food," say some of my downtown resident friends and people that work downtown looking for an awesome place (and GREAT deal) for lunch. WRONG! People, you've got it all WRONG! I was downtown yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), and was craving a slice of pizza. Fortunately, my stomach wouldn't listen to my brain which had been poisoned all these years by those potent myths. So my stomach guided my feet right to Roppolos' door. (I'm not sure I even knew they had a door. I just thought they served pizza out the window to passersby on the street). I walked in to check out the seating area to see if I could take out my ipad and get some work done. I was blown away... "Are you kidding me?" Walking through the doors at the back of the restaurant, I was teleported into a fabulous multi-level dining area, complete with a patio deck and several HD TVs. Yes! They also had free Wi-Fi so I could get my work done. Ok, I thought, I'll give it a try, not expecting much. WRONG AGAIN!!! The pizza was fantastic! Not only that, they gave me a Pizza Roll (I had like 4 different kinds to choose from), and a drink all for 5 bucks! I have to tell you, I was tempted to go back and try other kinds, but I was just too stuffed from the one extremely generous slice. Combined with the Pizza Roll, there was just no room for any more food! Bottom line is this: If you want to make a quick $20, next time one of your misinformed buddies parrots the BS about Roppolos only being good during late night benders, challenge them to a bet. $20 says that they will love it just as much as you and I. Ropollos is a pure gem hidden in plain sight! They've been a downtown fixture for over 15 years and deserve much better and more serious reviews for their pizza. Go ahead, I challenge you too! Just write about your awesome experience here, too!

They serve up by the slice or the entire pie! The crust is always crispy and never soggy. The slices are huge and you can grab a slice to recharge while your out on 6th. I also love ordering an entire pizza when visiting with friends because ku get your money's worth. Their pizza sauce and cheese is a heavenly combo!!!

I have to say, this place is a great place to get a slice when you are out late on on 6th street. You can't go wrong here. They are conveniently place nearby, with a takeout window for people walking by for a fast slice.

The place to get pizza on Sixth Street central (as opposed to west or east...that's a different story) might very well be Roppolo's. There's some close competition around, but for ease of purchase (by the slice), friendly service, and just damn tasty pizza (NY style), Roppolo's has it's ducks in a row. No duck pizza though. Why isn't anyone doing that? With figs...mmm. Anyway, add to that their sweet new back patio and bar, and Roppolo's has actually become a pizza joint not just to grab a slice on your way down sixth street while watching the mutants play, but a destination in and of itself.
