WOW - just been hit by a bolt of INSPIRATION from Princess Scribe - who's written a wonderful blog featuring a TED TALK by the Indian educator Kiran Bir Sethi who says "I love the notion of consciously infecting one’s mind with possibility."

From Princess Scribe's blog entitled The Ripple Effect (http://princessscribe.com/2012/11/01/the-ripple-effect/)

"Now and then, I run across an article, or a video, or an ideal, that is completely not writing-related… and yet, because it so captivates me, I wonder how I might apply it to the craft. This is probably why I am so enamored with the works of Stephen Pressfield, how he is able to blur the divide between life and art so beautifully.

I discovered this TED video by educator Kiran Bir Sethi, and once again, I began to wonder how her principles of empowerment, of “I can” could be applied to my life."

Here's my latest crowdfunding post all about how to crowdfund Humphrey Bogart-style!

Enjoy folks, and spread the word if you find Bogie's words and my advice worthwhile.

Ditto for filmmaking and all visual art forms. So much of the "value" is in whether the work MOVES YOU.
"Who me, yes you, no Belinda stole the cookie from the cookie jar..." rhyme just came to mind for some reason.
A timeless classic or childish game? That moment sticks with me throughout life... much like some of the paintings, photos, movies, performances, songs... Would I call it art? No. But perhaps my definition of art has been too small for far too long. Perhaps LIFE is the great work of art each of us is invited to pursue and the only measure of success is did it MOVE YOU?
Your thoughts, Celluloid Dreaming peeps?

Is a fine line between 'Art' and Incompetence?..

Photography is an interesting art form.. With a science background, technical and structured.. typically a portraiture/studio photographer controls his/her surroundings, lighting etc for consistency and 'perfection'.. but is it in that quest that the art is lost?.. does it just become another well exposed, well composed shot?.. perhaps the only way to 'stand out' is to be 'incompetent' in the traditional means.. and to create a new standard.. whether lower or higher.. different gets attention!!.. different creates discussion..

Do i like these images??.. personally hmmm not really.. but thats the beauty of 'art' its in the eye of the beholder.. whats the value of art?.. it is an enigma that polarises all of us.. Photographers seek to improve and become better, but by whose definition?.. our own? or by the number of likes/+1's we seek??

Im not sure what these images can be classified as.. perhaps less care/effort/time/skill is more?.. I dunno.. either way this guy has got people talking about his work.. your thoughts??..

I think that is something I love about photography.. The camera provides us all with a tool to use to express/document our lives with.. an image may have zero asethetic appeal to 'the masses' but has value to you.. that doesnt mean you shouldnt share it.. because someone else out there may see value in it too..

Happy sharing everyone..

It's my second day in America (now official permanent resident - woot) and I am reflecting on what a lucky woman. As an indie filmmaker making my first feature, I've learnt that it takes a community to turn a dream into a reality ... and one incredible husband.
