urban archaeology of sorts.

Good example of the repurposing of a famous structure as a city grows across centuries: the Stadium of Domitian in Rome. Built on the Field of Mars outside of Rome and dedicated in 86 AD, it was Rome's first facility dedicated to competitive athletic events. Also called the Circus Agonalis (from the Greek for 'competitive event'), the stadium is now overbuilt by the Piazzo Navona as depicted in the righthand photo. The buildings incorporate the stadium's original lower arcades. (Photo via The Romans page at FB.)

I wonder how adding a subway, instead of freeways, affects the growth of a city. More up than out like NY I imagine.

A freeway map of Greater Los Angeles has been smartly re-conceptualized as a subway poster.

Designer Peter Dunn makes clean and stylish improvements to L.A.'s tangled rat-king of roadways by applying an understood aesthetic and navigational logic seen in subway systems. He explains the process on his website Stonebrown Design: http://kp.cc/1aXD8G3

+Kevin Fairchild Point. The main topic of the article doesn't get a discount, yet, but the 6 bullet pointed items at the bottom of the article do. They're what prompted my share, however, 2 birds with 1 stone do not make a full basket or something like that. :)

I also wonder if aftermarket installation would qualify for an insurance discount given the ECS bullet point says  "when ... factory installed."

It's very neat, everyone should go at least once! Almost need kneepads for as much crawling as there is. Also don't wear anything you wouldn't want torn up.
