Sharon and family are very helpful and have been in the biz a long time. Always get what I need here, I always will.

My go to place for brewing equipment, supplies, and ingredients! Everyone there is laid back, super friendly and very knowledgeable about everything. Their grain and hop selection is great, it's rare that I have something I need that they don't currently stock. And even if they didn't have it, they have known what I was talking about and offered a suitable alternative. It's a little tricky to find the store the first time, but well worth your it. Cheers!

There is a homebrew shop by my house but I go out of my way to shop here. They are friendly, knowledgeable, have a great selection, and great prices. This place rocks.

While I am sure many locals can appreciate a store that is near them, I for one dont like going to one that is smelly and makes me think my brew is going to be contaminated even before I get home. While visiting this place, I found it to be understocked and overpriced. One staff member seemed nice but I overheard another trashing on a customer behind his back saying "how hard is it to follow a recipe?". When I asked about prices for ball lock kegs, I was told $60. While that is "decent", I can easily find those anywhere, including the internet, else for cheaper. Their extract station was a bit of a mess and their overall brewing supplies were lacking. Personally, I will just order from online and wait to brew than go to a smelly, two faced, not that well stocked, LHBS.

I've been shopping at ATR for several years now and usually can find what I need. The selection of equipment and ingredients they have is pretty good, despite the relatively small size shop. They keep it clean and even have a small play area for kids. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. Owners Steve and Sharon go above and beyond to please the customers and run a respectable business.

I was a first time home brewer and they took care of me. I had no idea what I was doing or talking about and they took me under their wing. I knew a little from what I was able to read in books but actually being in a store looking at all the parts can be little intimidating but I asked a lot of questions and they answered them and were very patient with me. I just tasted a beer from my first batch and it was awesome!

I love this homebrew shop. It is small, comfortable, the prices are always very appropriate. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The ingredients are always fresh and the staff goes to great lengths to assure this. I have shopped at Above the Rest about 2-3x per month for the past 2 years and have won several first and second place medals from brews made from ingredients sourced from their shop. The 50 lb "virtual bag of grain" for under $35 is a great deal and it cut my brewing costs in half. I shop at Above the Rest almost exclusively because they have treated me as a knowledgeable and dedicated brewer from day one...which is not always the case at local brew stores.

Above the Rest is exactly as defined in their name. Great selection, good prices, always expanding. Friendly, friendly, friendly! When I started going to this LHBS, I was a noivce, cutting my teeth on extract brews. No judgement passed and none of that elitist attitude that plagues so many shops. Now that I've expanded and grown, they are right there growing with me. In all my shopping trips, I've never had a bad experience.
