On June 29, just two days before the law is set to take effect, a federal judge in Tallahassee will hear arguments on HB 1411, a 2016 law passed by the Florida Legislature which would restrict abortion clinics from receiving taxpayer funds, and would require stricter women's health standards to protect women who undergo an abortion. The lawsuit was filed by Planned Parenthood, the nation's leader in abortions, who would be directly impacted by this bill.

Archbishop Gomez exhorted Californians to pray and work to “rebuild a culture of human dignity in the face of this unjust law.”

“We need to proclaim and demonstrate by our actions that all human life is precious and sacred and is worthy of our care and protection, from conception to natural death,” he said.

“A person does not stop being a person, does not lose his or her dignity or right to life, just because he or she loses certain physical or mental capacities. Indeed, it is when people are most vulnerable that they are most in need of our compassion and love.”

The ACLU and like-minded allies don’t just want court-imposed same-sex marriage. They want approval from everyone else for these same-sex marriages. This approval is not gained by exempting an individual from participation in a same-sex marriage, but by forcing them to participate.

The legalization of same-sex marriage has not slowed the push for these coercive policies. After Obergefell, same-sex marriage licenses are being obtained without delay—but that’s not satisfactory to the activist class of the LGBT movement, who still has the same desire to stomp out any disagreement.

FFPC President and General Counsel John Stemberger has released the following statement in response to today's horrible tragedy in Orlando: "The people shot by the Islamic jihadist were sons and daughters, mothers and fathers. They were citizens and workers. They were precious souls. Most importantly they were people who were made in the image and likeness of God himself. They were image bearers of the Creator and worthy of dignity, value, and respect.

This is an unspeakable tragedy and we should take extended time to mourn, to pray for the families of those murdered and injured, and to consider the depth of evil in the hearts of men that this senseless act represents. (continued)
