The mountain is in the Cordillera del Vilcanota at 5,200 meters above sea level, in the district of Pitumarca.

Its slopes and summits are dyed by stripes of intense shades of fuchsia, turquoise, lavender and gold.

The visual show that Vinicunca offers attracts visitors since the beginning of 2016, according to Haydee Pacheco, tourism official of the Municipality of Pitumarca.

In just over two years, travelers who come to take photos with the summit went from a few tens to about 1,000 a day, say Peruvian media, despite the cold and altitude of the place.

Thanks to its popularity, also driven by social networks, the hill became a regular destination in the rankings of tourist attractions in the world.

The tourist boom is quite recent, but the history of the mountain and its colors began millions of years ago.

This imposing mountain is located in the province of Chacapuque, which is only three hours from Cusco and after a gentle walk of half an hour, you can appreciate this jewel of nature, reported 90 Saturday.

"It does not require much physical effort, because mobility leaves us at almost 5 thousand meters above sea level. It's 30 minutes of walking and we will appreciate the rainbow mountain range, "said Iván Escalante, a tour guide from the area.

During the journey, you will appreciate the magical stone forest which will welcome you to the place and enjoy the beautiful postcards of the area, where the alpacas and llamas graze with total freedom.

It should be noted that the Mountain 7 colors of Palccoyo was discovered due to the deglaciation of the snowed mountains, which covered the top of the mountain range, which is part of the other mountain already known.
