I got a new professor gig. I've still got the old one, but now I am also a professor at the Hussman Institute for Human Genomics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Allie Graham defended her Ph.D. today, a dissertation titled "Comparative genomics of mechanisms underlying adaptation to high-altitude environments in Andean waterfowl." She embarks soon for a postdoc at Oregon State University.

Alexis Diaz will joining the PhD program at the University of Miami in the fall of 2017. He arrives via CORBIDI, the Centro de Ornitologia y Biodiversidad in Lima, Peru (www.corbidi.org), where he founded the Rio Santa Eulalia Biological Station.
