Tokyo to Shikoku - Lost & Found on the Shinkansen

On our way to Shikoku, we encounter a cool vending machine at Tokyo station, lose our luggage on the train, find our luggage, eat Japanese food, drink Japanese drinks & get shocked by a Japanese Shinkansen bullet train that sneaks up on us when we're least expecting it...we're on the road to Shikoku : )

The Crabster : Despite the silly-sounding name, this is actually a pretty cool submersible. With it's ability to map the area around it, move across all kinds of obstacles and can ostensibly achieve a depth of 656 feet. I found the movements of this robotic sub very reminiscent of a spider. Plus it has the advantage of being almost autonomous.

Article Extract: The world’s largest and deepest underwater-walking robot, the 1,400-pound Crabster CR200, was designed to scuttle along the seafloor like a monstrous crustacean. Its possible vocations include scientific explorer, commercial surveyor, and treasure hunter. In fast currents too dangerous for scuba divers, it steadies itself on six legs by putting its head down, raising its rear, and facing the flow head-on. It has 11 cameras, including an acoustic one to see through cloudy, turbulent waters.

The Cr200 crawls on six articulated legs—the rear four have four degrees of freedom while the front two have six—though the ROV can also fly along the seafloor like conventional craft using thrusters. If it spots something of interest with any of its 10 optical cameras, the CR200 can grab it with its front two legs, which double as manipulator arms, and store it in a frontal compartment.

The current model is powered through an umbilical tether from its mothership which allows the CR200 to deploy for more than 24 hours. Future iterations will likely have an onboard power source as well as the ability to "swim" like a sea turtle using its rear legs rather its thrusters and dive as deep as 6000 meters.

If you really want to try good Chinese food for a night with friends take the reserved karaoke room. If you are with kids perfect choice of dessert and bites foods. But if you have no money you are in for a treat, since it as open we are regular there, excellent choice of special home-made dim sun, tepanyaki, chinese bols and lots of really traditional Chinese, but for that be adventurous and try things at the back of the mains service area, the middle serving is more for traditional Chinese take away style.
