Absolutely this place should be on your bucket list. Only a true craftsman can take a 4 star meal and turn it into the best sandwich your mouth will ever have the experience of tasting. Service was great. The clientele is nice.

This was my second time here and it was just as great as the first. The food here is absolutely incredible. I had a salmon reuben which was awesome (I've never even considered putting salmon on a ruben) along with some sangria. I was slightly disappointed that they weren't serving their tequila sangria as they were on my first visit (it was delicious), but the regular recipe was just as good. The atmosphere of the place is also really cool. Although the inside can be a bit busy with servers moving around the tables, it has a nice rustic home-y type of feel, and when the weather is nice their patio has a great garden atmosphere with large umbrellas over each table. I'll definitely be going back.

The food and atmosphere are excellent. There is something for everyone on the menu, including the picky people and children.

EDIT: Mudgies called back and delivered our order for FREE a few days later. It was very much appreciated and the food was delicious. Thanks Mudgies for the apology ... class act. Cant tell you how the food is because it was never delivered. Why say you have a delivery slot available at 1:00 and then no call/no show for 45 mins? Finally had to call and cancel after reaching out several times because there is no way the food is still good after sitting for that long. I understand its a busy lunch period, but at least call me so I know you didn't forget my order for 10 people!

Matt, There was quite a bit of chaos here today. A woman left her baby in her car. The police were called. When they arrived the entire street was blocked off and we could not get our cars out. There were EMS and several squad cars. It was quite chaotic. We were all scrambled trying get the few orders out in other ways while dealing with EMS, the family of the child and the police. The person in charge of deliveries thought she talked to everyone and explained the situation. She somehow did not talk to you. Your order was in route when you cancled. If you will allow us to, we would like to send you a complimentary lunch for your staff, on us. Sorry for any trouble this caused you. You should of been called. P.S. The child is and always was fine.

What an amazing deli sandwich shop! The restaurant has a rustic style, and the ambiance is laid back. Service is friendly and the sandwiches are the best! I honestly can't remember what I've had here since the menu is pretty big and I've tried so many sandwiches, but I've been happy with everything so far. Best deli spot in Detroit!

Never had a bad meal at Mudgie's. My office occasionally gets sandwich trays catered in and they go FAST. They recently opened patio seating, and, for a limited time during summer months, there's a free taco bar back there -- can't beat that! Decent wine list. Great local beers.

After years of planning on coming here I finally did. Must say the menu selection of comfort food and sandwich's are amazing. Went with the Judge Sandwich... Amazing and at a great ticket $10. Music is pleasing... not to stuffy... not to hipster... perfectly casual. I would advise eating on one of the patios to enjoy the great atmosphere. Wait staff is kind and knowledgeable. Can't wait to come back.

Tuesday night wine tastings are a serious Detroit resource. The host is uncommonly knowledgeable about wine and invariably selects interesting, affordable vintages to showcase. 4-6 wines per event, 15 dollars total. The evening's featured wines are available, discounted sharply, by the glass or bottle. Try this now during the summer so you can enjoy out on the patio. Mudgie's also offers, btw, the best sandwiches in the Motor City. If you don't try the home-smoked salmon reuben, your life will be poorer for it. My only quibble, and the reason I award 4 stars instead of 5 is that the staff seem to be somewhat at odds over the tasting event. The servers are reluctant to allow guests to order food on the patio and it takes some firmness to overcome their opposition.
