My experience setting up my family left me with many of the same thoughts on improvements. I too would like to be able to crop the photos, actually select correct locations, etc. I'd also like to be able to show relationships within the presentation. Just saying someone is my great grandmother wasn't working for me. I found it cumbersome to have to use their date scrollers and would like to be able to enter data numerically.  Creating the story seemed a bit too time consuming because of the method of data entry.

I'd also like to see more options for sharing my wonderful creation. I shared mine to Facebook and when the site shared my movie it didn't make it clear that clicking on the WDYTYA Story graphic would show my friends and family MY story. I had to add an additional comment to let them know they should click it. Maybe minor, but my elderly relatives didn't understand until I told them.   For a beta offering, it was a fun and enjoyable way to share a small part of my story.

This would be a good way to keep track of our ancestor's birthdays and anniversaries as blogging prompts too. Nice form!

This is my grandmother, Opal Gorrell Darnold at the head of the table, my aunts Betty Darnold Turnbull and Marilyn Darnold Coyle on either side, and closest to the camera is my great aunt Wilda Gorrell McGinnis. Grandma was a great cook and every holiday came with this easy, make ahead version of Ambrosia. She called it 5 Cup Salad which we always teased her about because it's really got 6 ingredients.
1 Cup drained Mandarin orange slices
1 Cup drained pineapple tidbits
1 Cup drained and halved Maraschino cherries
1 Cup coconut
1 Cup mini marshmallows
1 Cup sour cream.
Mix it all together the night before and refrigerate.  This is a very flexible recipe, adapt as your family prefers. It could easily be a dessert but was always served as a side dish.
